Privacy Policy for Quick Translate Effective Date: September 22, 2026

Quick Translate (“the App,” “we,” “us”) is developed by Mm Developer. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and your rights regarding it. By using Quick Translate, you agree to this policy.

1. Accessibility Service — Important Disclosure

Quick Translate offers an optional feature called Instant Copy Mode, which uses Android’s Accessibility API. When you turn this feature on, it lets the App read the text currently displayed on your screen so you can instantly copy, translate, or listen to it — without taking a screenshot or screen recording.

This feature is used only while you actively use Instant Copy Mode.
It does not record your screen, capture audio, log keystrokes, track your activity in other apps, or monitor you in the background.
Screen content read by this feature is never stored, saved, or transmitted to us or any third party.
This feature is entirely optional and can be turned on or off anytime in your device’s Settings → Accessibility → Quick Translate Copy Mode.
The App’s core translation features work fully without enabling this feature.

2. Information We Collect

Text you choose to translate: When you use translation features, the text you select is sent to the translation engine you’ve chosen (see Section 4) to generate a translation. We do not store this text on our servers.

Device and usage information: We may collect device model, operating system version, app usage statistics, and crash logs, via Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, to improve app stability and performance.

Advertising identifier: If you see ads in the App, Google AdMob may collect your advertising ID to show relevant ads, subject to your consent choices.

Camera and images: When you use the Document Scanner or image-based text scanning, images are processed to extract text. This processing happens on your device using on-device ML Kit models wherever possible; images are not uploaded to our servers.

Purchase information: Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment card details.

Translation history: Your translation history is stored locally on your device only. It is never uploaded to us or any third party, and is deleted if you clear app data or uninstall the App.

We do not collect your name, email address, or contact details unless you voluntarily provide them, such as when emailing us for support.

3. Permissions We Use

Internet access — to connect to translation services
Camera — for OCR text scanning and Document Scanner
Display over other apps (screen overlay) — to show translation results and the floating translator
Accessibility Service (optional) — powers Instant Copy Mode, as described in Section 1
Foreground Service / Media Projection — required for the floating screen translator to capture and translate on-screen text in real time
Notifications — to show scan/translate shortcuts and ongoing service status

4. Third-Party Services

Depending on which translation engine you select in the App, translated text may be sent to:

Google Translate
Microsoft Azure Translator
DeepL
Yandex Translate
MyMemory Translation

Each of these providers processes the text solely to return a translation, under their own privacy policies. We also use:

Google AdMob — to display ads (if applicable)
Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging) — for app performance, crash reporting, and notifications
Google Play Billing — to process subscriptions and purchases

We do not sell your information to any third party.

5. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information handled by the App. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

6. Data Retention

Translation history and app preferences are stored only on your device. Analytics and crash data are retained by our service providers according to their own retention policies, typically for statistical and debugging purposes only.

7. Children’s Privacy

Quick Translate is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA (California), or DPDPA (India), including the right to:

Know what data is processed
Request deletion of data we hold about you
Opt out of personalized advertising, via your device’s ad settings
Withdraw consent at any time
